Rome Shopping guide - Chic, boutique and designer Italy
Shopping guide to Rome
Paris may be chic but Rome has all the style. The shops and stores in Rome have the world’s finest and most fashionable clothes and leather accessories including top quality designer handbags and shoes.
When you walk into some of the top designer boutiques the assistants will cast an eye over your dress to see if you are worth their attention. The price tags in the smartest ofshops in Via Condotti will make your eyes water but at least you can be sure that designer names are genuine. Also, it is a pleasure to smell the luxury aroma in shops that are so world-renowned, such as:
- Louis Vuitton,
- Max Mara,
- Bruno Magli,
- Giorgio Armani, and
- Salvatore Ferragamo.
If you are looking for fantastically expensive watches then the place to go is Bulgari and for even more expensive jewellery the shop to visit is Damiani.
Near Via Condotti is Piazza di Spagna where you will find Dolce & Gabbana and in Largo Goldoni, Fendi occupies the entire 19th-century Palazzo Boncompagni Ludovisi where you will find furs, shoes, bags and clothes.
Also in the Largo Goldoni is the ‘Queen of Cashmere', Laura Biagiotti, complemented by Gianni Versace, Tod's, Moschino, and Gianfranco Ferré.
In Via dei Giubbonari there are fashionable stores for teens and young people and for genuinely reasonable prices there are two major stores on the fringes of Rome, Fashion District, Valmontone, and Castel Romano Outlet.
If you are looking for antiques and Roman antiquities, there are many shops selling the genuine articles in Via del Babuino, Via Giulia, Via Margutta, and Via de' Coronari, and there are “flea markets” in Via Sannio.
